Director, Marketing & Communications

About the role

A hotel belonging to the Accor network, which brings together more than 45 brands, 5,500 hotels, 10,000 restaurants and lifestyle destinations, is looking for a Director, Marketing & Communications. The role manages the marketing and public relations department, acts as the hotel's primary brand ambassador and develops communication strategies in partnership with Sales, Spa, Food and Beverage to grow profits and brand exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the marketing and PR department and ensure brand standards and guidelines are followed
• Develop communication strategies and run marketing, PR and campaign activities with other departments
• Handle hotel photography, creative direction for ads, PR pitch calendars, media releases (at least two per month), guest and sales collateral and brand partnerships
• Plan and run 6-8 media events per year, such as restaurant launches, packages and media familiarization trips
• Monitor market factors and plan advertising and promotion across print, electronic, radio, social and direct mail
• Develop promotional materials, liaise with regional and corporate offices on projects supporting FRHI initiatives, and support media interviews and crisis communications
• Present strategies to the executive committee, manage PR and marketing agency resources, update restaurant and spa listings, and submit monthly ROI reports to the Dubai Regional Office

Required profile

• Prior experience in a luxury hotel or luxury hospitality environment (mandatory)
• 5-8 years of marketing/communications experience, preferably in a hotel setting
• Excellent written and spoken English
• University education preferred; Arabic skills, GCC media contacts and PR agency experience are assets
• Organized, detail-oriented, able to work under pressure and manage stakeholder expectations
