Director of Business Development

About the role

Staras, a leading technical production and event‑technology company in the UAE, seeks a commercially aggressive Director of Business Development to drive new revenue streams across the UAE and GCC.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a commercial growth strategy for UAE and selected GCC markets, targeting event agencies, production companies, promoters and corporate clients.
• Generate new business across rental, technical production and integrated event solutions, building relationships with senior decision‑makers and procurement stakeholders.
• Identify large‑scale opportunities before formal RFQ/tender stage, lead negotiations and close high‑value deals while protecting project margins.
• Collaborate with technical and production teams to create commercially competitive solutions and provide accurate forecasting.
• Support expansion into Saudi Arabia and other GCC markets.

Required profile

• 10+ years of commercial experience in AV rental, technical production, live events, staging, lighting, audio, LED/video or related fields.
• Established personal network and proven account ownership across the Middle‑East events, entertainment and corporate ecosystem.
• Entrepreneurial, commercially aggressive, comfortable selling to senior executives and negotiating long sales cycles.
• UAE/GCC market experience; Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
• Valid UAE driving licence preferred.
