Director of Business Intelligence

About the role

The Director of Business Intelligence will shape and execute the organisation's business and market intelligence agenda, delivering actionable insights on market trends, competitive dynamics, customer behaviour and overall business performance to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the Business & Market Intelligence strategy aligned with strategic and commercial priorities.
• Monitor and analyse market trends, industry developments, competitor activity, customer behaviour and economic factors.
• Provide senior leadership with forward‑looking insights to support strategic and commercial decision‑making.
• Lead competitive intelligence activities, including benchmarking, pricing trends and service developments.
• Identify emerging market opportunities, risks and trends and translate them into actionable recommendations.
• Produce market intelligence reports, executive dashboards, outlooks and strategic presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Support business units in identifying revenue growth, market expansion and customer acquisition opportunities.
• Partner with Commercial, Strategy, Finance, Operations and other functions to answer key business questions with data‑driven recommendations.
• Maintain market, competitor and industry intelligence databases and tracking frameworks.
• Conduct scenario analysis and forecasting to aid strategic planning.
• Evaluate external developments such as regulatory, economic, technological and geopolitical factors.
• Lead research for new markets, investments, partnerships, acquisitions and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading business intelligence or market intelligence functions.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear strategic insights.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to executive leadership.
