Director of Curriculum, Data & Assessment

About the role

GEMS Education is seeking a forward‑thinking Director of Curriculum, Data & Assessment to join the leadership team of its School of Research and Innovation. This strategic whole‑school role will ensure curriculum, assessment and student performance data operate as a coherent system to improve teaching, learning and outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of an ambitious, inclusive and future‑focused curriculum.
• Develop and oversee a whole‑school assessment strategy covering formative, summative, diagnostic and standardised assessments.
• Establish effective systems for analysing attainment, progress, value‑added and emerging trends, and create dashboards and performance indicators.
• Build staff capability in curriculum design, assessment literacy, moderation and data interpretation through professional learning and coaching.
• Ensure curriculum, assessment and data systems align with KHDA, DSIB, external benchmarking and examination requirements.

Required profile

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE, B.Ed. or equivalent).
• Significant successful teaching experience and proven experience in curriculum leadership or senior leadership.
• Strong track record in curriculum design, development, implementation and quality assurance.
• Excellent understanding of effective pedagogy, assessment and contemporary educational research.
• Experience using assessment and student performance data to improve outcomes and leading professional development.
• Ability to inspire, influence and collaborate with colleagues at all levels, with excellent communication and analytical skills.
