Director of Data, AI & Digital Intelligence

About the role

Besins Healthcare, an international pharmaceutical company of about 1,800 employees, is transforming its enterprise and wants data and artificial intelligence to be core capabilities. It is creating a highly visible leadership role, reporting to the Head of IT, to build and operate the company's enterprise-wide Data & AI capability. The Director leads two strategic programs: the Enterprise Data Foundation and the Enterprise AI Foundation.

Key responsibilities

• Data governance: design and implement a framework covering ownership, stewardship, quality, lifecycle, policies, metadata and access management.
• Data architecture: define the target architecture, data models, master and reference data, information and metadata architecture, and data integration and lifecycle architecture.
• Data lakehouse: lead the design and deployment of a unified data platform integrating ERP, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, commercial and scientific data.
• Data catalogue: build a capability for discovering data, understanding lineage, assessing quality and requesting access, moving toward a data marketplace.
• AI governance: set up a framework for responsible and ethical AI, risk management, explainability, auditability, model validation and regulatory compliance.
• AI platform: define and implement a platform supporting LLMs, RAG, knowledge repositories, model and prompt management, and AI monitoring and security.
• Agentic AI: define the vision, architecture and operating model for deploying AI agents, including an agent orchestrator.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, recruit talent, define operating models, set up governance forums and manage strategic partners.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in Data, Analytics, AI or Digital leadership roles.
• Proven experience building enterprise-scale data capabilities and implementing data governance programs.
• Experience with Agentic AI and scaling AI in large organizations.
• Comfortable engaging with executives, business stakeholders, architects, engineers and partners.
• Pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences or regulated industry experience highly appreciated.
