Director of Development – Luxury Hospitality Expansion

About the role

The Director – Development will lead Jumeirah’s regional growth across Europe and Asia, securing high‑value hotel and residence projects that align with the brand’s Mission 2030. This senior position reports to senior leadership and represents the brand at industry events.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and secure development opportunities that expand the hotel and residences portfolio.
• Manage the full development lifecycle – sourcing, feasibility, design workshops, contract negotiations, governance and handover to Technical Services.
• Conduct site identification, financial modelling, market research and due diligence to select strategic projects.
• Negotiate with owners, developers and family businesses while coordinating with legal, finance, brand and operations teams.
• Lead a regional development team, providing direction, communication and strategic insight.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution and quality control to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Required profile

• Extensive hospitality industry experience with a proven track record in hotel development.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate and execute high‑value development opportunities.
• Strong negotiation skills and an established network of owners and developers across Europe.
• Experience negotiating Hotel Management Agreements (HMAs) and Branded Residences Agreements.
• Capability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.
