Director of Events

About the role

Join The Lana, Dorchester Collection in Dubai as Director of Events, leading the events sales department to achieve the hotel’s financial, business and marketing objectives. You will collaborate with senior management and key hotel departments to develop and execute the annual sales budget while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the events sales team to meet financial, business and marketing targets set by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
• Maintain direct oversight of the events sales department and ensure alignment with the hotel’s strategic vision.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Finance and Front Office to develop and execute the annual sales budget.
• Provide the Executive Committee with regular data, forecasts, reports and budget updates.
• Coordinate multiple external vendors and service providers for group and event operations.
• Oversee budgeting, revenue management, invoicing and contract administration for groups and events.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, including DET and CID permits.
• Manage several events simultaneously while maintaining high service standards.

Required profile

• Strong leadership with a passion for developing talent and mentoring high‑potential team members.
• Detail‑oriented, hands‑on team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English; additional languages such as Arabic are an asset.
• Relevant university diploma and extensive experience in events for a luxury hospitality group in the Middle East.
