Director of Financial Control

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UAE institution that is building a digital‑first, AI‑enabled financial services organisation. As Director of Financial Control you will shape the operational, financial and control foundations of a modern digital bank from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Own the general ledger, chart of accounts and the overall financial control framework.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Establish and maintain IFRS accounting policies, controls and reconciliation procedures.
• Oversee regulatory and financial reporting, financial operations and tax activities.
• Manage capital measurement and reporting in close collaboration with Treasury and Risk teams.
• Build and lead a financial control team while implementing AI‑enabled finance and control processes.

Required profile

• 12+ years of financial control or accounting experience in banking or financial services, including leadership of finance teams.
• Deep expertise in IFRS, general ledger management, reconciliations, close processes and financial controls.
• Proven track record of designing accounting policies, control frameworks and reporting processes in regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of CBUAE reporting requirements, IFRS standards and Basel frameworks.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CPA.
