Director of Government Communication Department

About the role

The Director of the Government Communication Department will lead the development and execution of public policies and communication strategies for the UAE government. This senior position oversees all media activities, ensures alignment with strategic direction, and supports the official spokesperson.

Key responsibilities

• Manage media crises in coordination with the UAE Government Media Office and relevant stakeholders.
• Oversee organizational units, monitor performance, and prepare reports to avoid duplication of objectives.
• Lead the Ministry’s official spokesperson system and provide full support.
• Develop strategic and operational plans, set performance indicators, and drive their achievement.
• Supervise creation of visual, audio, and written marketing and advertising materials and implement promotional plans.
• Organize events, community activities, and government communication initiatives.
• Implement internal and external communication strategies with stakeholders and partners.
• Direct the entity’s digital media strategy and manage digital presence across websites and social platforms.
• Coordinate with the Government Communication Office at the General Secretariat of the Cabinet to align with the UAE Government’s communication strategy.

Required profile

• UAE national holding a family book.
• Master’s degree in communication and media with at least 13 years of professional experience, including 3 years in a leadership role, OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years of experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
• Professional certifications: Certified Digital Marketing Specialist, Professional Diploma in Smart Government Information and Communication, Certified Product Manager.
