Director of Quality Assurance & Governance

About the role

The Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research seeks a senior leader to head its Quality Assurance and Governance Department. Reporting to senior council officials, the Director will shape and oversee quality frameworks across higher‑education institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance academic and institutional quality‑assurance frameworks in line with best practices and approved standards.
• Oversee academic programme accreditation processes and ensure compliance with quality and accreditation requirements.
• Reduce duplication and overlap among academic programmes to improve ecosystem efficiency.
• Monitor implementation of governance principles and ensure adherence to relevant policies, legislation, and standards.
• Track institutional and academic performance, including local and international ranking indicators.
• Support faculty quality development and elevate educational outcomes toward excellence and sustainability.
• Prepare studies, reports, and recommendations on higher‑education quality to inform strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Quality Assurance Management, Higher Education, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in quality assurance, academic accreditation, or higher‑education management and leadership.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
• Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage priorities efficiently.
