Director, Private Banking (Emiratized)

About the role

The Director of Private Banking will lead the development of business across diverse markets, focusing on ultra‑high‑net‑worth (UHNWI) and high‑net‑worth (HNWI) clients, both on‑shore and off‑shore. The role aims to grow assets under management (AUM) and market share while delivering an exceptional level of service and tailored investment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand a portfolio of UHNWI/HNWI clients, generating new business through referrals, contacts and marketing initiatives.
• Lead end‑to‑end private banking projects, coordinating with relationship managers and global teams.
• Promote the three pillars of private banking – banking, fiduciary services and portfolio management – across offshore (Switzerland) and on‑shore (UAE) offerings.
• Identify target markets, develop business plans and implement the annual marketing strategy.
• Ensure compliance with AML, OFAC, KYC and other regulatory requirements, conducting full due‑diligence on prospects.
• Cross‑sell investment banking, asset management and other group products to meet client needs.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of private banking disciplines (banking, fiduciary, portfolio management) and offshore jurisdictions such as Switzerland, UK, US, Jersey, Cayman, BVI and UAE free zones.
• Strong understanding of AML, OFAC and KYC regulations applicable to international private banking.
• Proven ability to develop and manage relationships with HNWI/UHNWI clients, including hunting and farming capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic; additional languages (French, Hindi, Urdu) are a plus.
• Experience working with complex investment products, including derivatives, structured funds and wealth‑protection structures.
