About the role

Supermicro, a leading provider of server, storage and networking solutions for data centers, cloud computing, enterprise IT, Hadoop/big data, hyperscale, HPC and IoT/embedded customers, is looking for a Senior Director Solutions to lead a high-performing team supporting several sales divisions in driving business growth in EMEA. The role aligns solution strategies with revenue goals and ensures smooth execution across cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the product roadmap and lead the development and integration of storage/server and JBOD system products
• Create a clear strategy and work closely with marketing, engineering and business development to deliver a complete server solution to customers
• Use a strong technical background to define technical product requirements for cloud and data center infrastructure solutions based on customer needs, industry trends and business requirements
• Engage with customers at all levels, from senior executives to engineering and product marketing, to explain capabilities and understand their challenges
• Escalate critical issues to senior management and vendors as needed
• Deliver product training to internal teams, sales teams and customers
• Provide third-level customer support internally and externally as needed

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; 15 years of hands-on experience in system/server architecture is desirable
• Demonstrated product marketing and/or product management track record, managing products from concept through launch to end-of-life
• Strong knowledge of computer architecture
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills

Required skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, SUSE, Red Hat and CentOS
• Experience with virtualization, containerization and storage products such as VMware, VirtualBox, Docker, Kubernetes and Ceph
