Diving Representative

About the role

Bureau Veritas is hiring a Diving Representative in Abu Dhabi, reporting to the Team Leader/Project Manager/ADNOC Offshore. The role works closely with the INY Manager, site team leader, technical managers and customers, and establishes direct contact with clients and, where needed, other Bureau Veritas teams. The position ensures ADNOC diving standards and international standards for safe diving operations, including the safety and health of the diving team.

Key responsibilities

• Review diving CVs and evaluate the diving team against project requirements and ADNOC/IMCA standards
• Inspect the diving spread to ensure compliance with ADNOC/IMCA standards
• Ensure diving operations are carried out from a safe location and in line with permit-to-work requirements
• Verify that all dive-team personnel are qualified and physically fit, and assess divers before each dive
• Check that diving equipment is suitable, inspected and in good working order
• Maintain operating manuals, decompression tables and treatment schedules at the dive site
• Prepare and submit ADNOC-required reports on diving operations and equipment maintenance, testing or repair
• Follow up emergency and contingency procedures, and plan and brief the diving team
• Critique dives after completion and report accidents and incidents according to ADNOC HSE standards
• Conduct job hazard reviews and toolbox talks before diving starts

Required profile

• IMCA Supervisor ticket with at least 10 years as a diving supervisor on offshore projects
• One HSE certification such as NEBOSH, OSHA or IOSH
• Minimum 3-year university diploma
• 10 years of experience as a supervisor in offshore inspections, maintenance and construction after obtaining the IMCA ticket
• Competence in diving equipment inspection and audits
• UAE driving licence not required; site safety induction and ADNOC Offshore training provided
