Senior HSE Officer

About the role

Innovo Group is looking for a Senior HSE Officer in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures full compliance with local, statutory and international HSE standards and implements the HSE Management System across the site. It also covers quality standards, site inspections, training, environmental compliance and incident follow-up.

Key responsibilities

• Comply with company HSE and sustainability policies and quality standards, and communicate HSE policies and disciplinary procedures to all employees
• Ensure risk assessments and permit-to-work systems are followed, and implement safety controls for local legal requirements and client specifications
• Carry out daily site inspections, check safe access, housekeeping and signage, and enforce PPE requirements
• Deliver project HSE inductions and monthly HSE training for new workers and subcontractors, and provide job-specific training based on risk assessments
• Monitor environmental compliance, maintain firefighting equipment and keep emergency procedures current
• Follow up on HSE meeting action points, maintain accident and incident reports, investigate incidents and submit documentation to the HSE Superintendent
• Coordinate with the project operations team, consultants and government authorities, and drive innovation and cost-effective solutions

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in well-established contracting companies in the GCC
• Diploma or degree as required by client specifications or zoning authority requirements
• Ability to work outdoors and in shift work within manual or workshop settings

Required skills

• NEBOSH certification (required)
• Strong knowledge of HSE standards, operational hazards, control measures and international HSE best practices
• Hands-on experience implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements
• Ability to influence employees and promote HSE tools and practices
