Draughtsman (EPLAN/ELCAD) – Electrical Design

About the role

The Draughtsman (EPLAN/ELCAD) will create accurate electrical schematics, panel layouts and technical documentation for turnkey electrical power projects. Working within the engineering and project teams, you will translate design concepts into detailed drawings that meet industry standards and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop General Arrangement (GA), layout and assembly drawings for control and protection panels, cubicles and sub‑assemblies.
• Prepare detailed fabrication drawings for sheet‑metal components, mounting plates, sub‑panels and busbar systems, including dimensions, tolerances and notes.
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, termination drawings and panel layouts using EPLAN based on engineering inputs.
• Generate and maintain device tags, cable schedules, terminal diagrams and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, client specifications and applicable IEC/NFPA codes.
• Update and revise drawings in response to engineering changes, site feedback and as‑built requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a draughtsman using EPLAN and/or ELCAD for electrical projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles and industry standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing and installation teams.
