Dredge Master – Operate and Lead Dredging Projects

About the role

The Dredge Master will lead and execute dredging, reclamation and civil marine projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest safety and environmental standards. You will coordinate daily operations, manage crew performance and act as the primary point of contact for the dredging team.

Key responsibilities

• Operate dredger and booster safely and efficiently, meeting daily production targets.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and Senior Dredge Master on daily planning and performance reporting.
• Implement HSE requirements, respond to Q/HSE reports and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Delegate tasks to dredge mates, assess their performance and drive efficiency improvements.
• Identify risks, recommend mitigations and coordinate incident investigations.
• Provide guidance to the operational crew and escalate unresolved issues to senior management.
• Support performance evaluation processes for the dredging crew.

Required profile

• Vocational dredging degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in dredging operations or similar marine projects.
• First‑aid certification; navigation license (STCW 95) is an asset.
• Proven experience in project performance analysis and risk assessment.
• Strong understanding of HSE standards in marine environments.
