Technician Heat Treatment

About the role

The Technician Heat Treatment will set up and operate heat‑treatment furnaces and related equipment, ensuring safe and efficient processing of a wide range of metal components. The role supports both production and foundry activities within EDGE’s manufacturing hub.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor heat‑treatment furnaces, induction hardening machines, and related equipment.
• Perform heat‑treatment cycles (hardening, tempering, quenching, annealing, etc.) on carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminium alloys and other materials.
• Maintain accurate records of temperature, heating rates, soaking times, cooling rates and other process parameters.
• Inspect treated components for distortion, cracking, oxidation and verify hardness against specifications.
• Assist in foundry operations such as sand‑mold casting, die‑casting, pattern making and melting.

Required profile

• High school diploma; college diploma or heat‑treatment/foundry certification preferred.
• Minimum three years’ experience as a heat‑treatment technician handling ferrous and non‑ferrous parts.
• Ability to lift and move items over 20 kg and interpret engineering drawings.
• Effective communication in English, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Operation of heat‑treatment furnaces and induction hardening machines.
• Hardness testing using conventional and digital precision measuring instruments.
• Interpretation of blueprints and engineering schematics.
• Preventive maintenance of heat‑treatment equipment.
