Drilling QA/QC Engineer

About the role

The Drilling QA/QC Engineer ensures that all drilling equipment, materials, services and operational activities meet Sharjah National Oil Corporation’s standards, contractual requirements and industry regulations. The role supports safe and efficient drilling operations by implementing quality assurance processes, conducting inspections and audits, and monitoring contractor performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pre‑spud activities, develop and maintain comprehensive Quality Plans for drilling and completion operations.
• Plan, execute and report vendor audits to assess competency against DS‑1 equipment standards.
• Review equipment lists, create Inspection and Test Plans, and manage documentation for downhole equipment refurbishment, repair and testing.
• Maintain databases of accepted, rejected and non‑conforming equipment, and recommend appropriate QA intensity levels.
• Conduct on‑site audits, inspections and root‑cause investigations, and prepare detailed reports.
• Implement and manage the Non‑Conformance Reporting (NCR) system and oversee corrective and preventive actions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards.
• Experience with Quality Management System (QMS) implementation and audit procedures.
• Proficiency in conducting root‑cause analysis and managing NCR processes.
• Familiarity with inspection and test planning for drilling equipment.
