Dry Utilities Engineer (Electrical T&C)

About the role

KN International is seeking a Dry Utilities Engineer based in Barary, Al Ain, to support the client in executing, supervising, testing and commissioning, quality controlling and coordinating electrical works for infrastructure projects. The engineer ensures that electrical HV, MV, LV and ELV systems are installed, tested, commissioned and handed over in line with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, industry standards and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex field engineering assignments covering development, execution, supervision, testing and commissioning of a construction project.
• Maintain first-level quality assurance so that installations follow plans, specifications and industry standards.
• Supervise construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more disciplines.
• Ensure tests and inspections are performed, witnessed and documented according to approved procedures.
• Coordinate and support testing and commissioning of electrical HV, MV, LV and ELV systems, and review test reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with construction management to eliminate hazards affecting the environment, safety and health of employees, and ensure safe work practices.
• Liaise with design engineering staff, review and interpret design drawings and specifications, and resolve technical problems.
• Develop discipline construction schedules, monitor progress and provide schedule and progress reports to the Construction Manager.
• Monitor material procurement and deliveries, and ensure received materials meet specifications and quality standards.
• Organize discipline data for project turnover, including testing and commissioning documentation, and maintain records such as back-charge procedures and progress reports.
• May interface with the client and upper-level management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering on infrastructure projects involving HV, MV, LV and ELV systems.
• Strong experience in testing and commissioning of electrical HV, MV, LV and ELV systems.
• Experience in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and other testing and commissioning activities.
• Good written and oral communication and proven ability to perform key technical roles.
