e-Learning Content Developer (UAE National)

About the role

This is an e-Learning Content Developer position for UAE nationals, focused on designing and developing e-learning content. Working from the direction given by the Content Manager or Instructional Designer, the developer independently analyses, recommends, builds and supports instructional solutions based on sound educational theory and instructional design.

Key responsibilities

• Work with subject matter experts, content managers and instructional designers to implement moderately complex or unique instructional design plans.
• Develop learning modules using course management software, web authoring tools and e-learning technologies within strict timelines.
• Evaluate the pedagogical value of technology used in instructional designs and suggest revisions to SMEs and instructors.
• Modify and enhance existing content with current and emerging technologies, keeping it consistent with the SME's concepts.
• Build interactive instructional learning objects and maintain assessment and evaluation instruments.
• Act as functional lead on parts of larger development projects.
• Run workshops, seminars and training programmes on course design, pedagogy and technology use.
• Train colleagues, faculty and support staff on new and existing technology, initiatives and policy.
• Research and recommend new educational technologies for purchase, with cost information.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a Master's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role or as a front-end developer.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Arabic speaking and writing skills are mandatory.

Required skills

• Multimedia development, including interactive learning objects.
• Graphic and visual design with interactive media software such as Storyline, Camtasia and Captivate.
• Web design with HTML and CSS.
• Development of online courses in a learning management setting.
• Working knowledge of instructional design theory and concepts.
• Experience using social learning technologies.
