EHS Intern

About the role

Siemens Energy is looking for an EHS intern to join its Middle East EHS team in Dubai. The intern reviews and standardizes the ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management system, maintains document registers and compliance trackers, and supports improvement projects, including digital solutions that reduce manual effort. Experienced EHS professionals guide the intern, who owns real deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the EHS management system in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, including gap assessments, internal audits and tracking corrective actions to closure.
• Review, organize and standardize EHS policies, procedures, standards and templates, and keep an accurate document register, compliance trackers and management system records.
• Map EHS processes, workflows, responsibilities and governance requirements, and identify opportunities to simplify, automate and digitalize them using tools such as Power BI and Power Automate.
• Collect, consolidate and analyze EHS data across business units to find trends, gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Support two to three EHS improvement projects, from project plans and milestones to progress trackers, impact measures and documented lessons learned.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, and prepare monthly progress updates, presentations and management reports.

Required profile

• Recently graduated with a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Environment, Health & Safety or a related field.
• Foundational understanding of management systems, process improvement, risk management and project management; familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is an advantage.
• Analytical ability to interpret data and turn findings into actionable recommendations.
• Strong organization and project coordination skills, with the discipline to track milestones and take ownership of deliverables.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English, and a proactive, curious mindset.

Required skills

• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience with Power BI or Power Automate is a plus, along with a willingness to learn new digital tools.
