Embedded Systems Engineer / Firmware Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Systems Engineer to design, develop, test, and optimise firmware for next‑generation electronic products. The role involves close collaboration with hardware, QA, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance embedded solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain embedded firmware for microcontrollers, processors and hardware platforms.
• Write and optimise code in C/C++ and implement communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB and Ethernet.
• Develop drivers and software components for sensors, peripherals, and actuators, and integrate firmware with hardware modules.
• Implement real‑time applications using RTOS platforms and configure low‑level hardware interfaces.
• Debug firmware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD and other engineering tools, and resolve integration issues.
• Perform unit, integration, system and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing, and create automated test procedures.
• Maintain source code with Git, participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards.
• Document firmware architecture, interfaces, testing results and troubleshooting procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience in embedded systems, firmware development and hardware‑software integration.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.

Required skills

• C and C++ programming.
• Microcontroller and processor architectures (ARM Cortex‑M preferred).
• Communication protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet.
• RTOS concepts and real‑time development.
• Debugging tools: JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers.
• Version control with Git.
• Embedded Linux, bootloaders, device drivers (advantageous).
• Familiarity with functional safety, cybersecurity or industry‑specific standards (plus).
