Emergency Medicine Consultant - UAE

About the role

A leading, internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its high-acuity emergency department, trauma and resuscitation services and is seeking an Emergency Medicine Consultant. The role suits internationally trained clinicians looking for career advancement, strong clinical exposure and a modern, quality-driven environment serving a diverse international patient population. It is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Lead assessment and stabilisation of emergency, trauma, cardiac, medical, surgical and paediatric presentations
• Run resuscitation, airway management, procedural sedation and critical decision-making in the emergency department
• Triage complex cases, supervise emergency teams and coordinate specialist referrals
• Ensure safe patient flow, observation unit decisions, transfers and discharge planning
• Take part in disaster preparedness, trauma protocols, simulation training and clinical governance
• Maintain accurate emergency documentation, medico-legal compliance and patient safety standards

Required profile

• Recognised specialist qualification such as ABEM, UK CCT / FRCEM, European Board of Emergency Medicine, Royal College Certification (Canada), Australian FACEM, Arab Board, or MD / DNB / FCPS or equivalent
• Candidates from the USA, UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, India, the Middle East, Africa and South America, subject to UAE licensing and facility credentialing
• Strong clinical judgement, evidence-based practice and patient safety
• Excellent communication with culturally diverse patients and teams, and ability to adapt to UAE regulations and hospital governance
