Engine Supervisor - Aviation Maintenance

About the role

The Engine Supervisor supports the Workshops Management team in carrying out aviation unit and intermediate maintenance inspections, services and repairs on assigned aircraft components. The role supervises the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Operations section and works under the direction of the Manager Operations to deliver efficient, cost-effective maintenance at the base.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Maintenance Operations section so that work follows design, policy and procedures.
• Manage maintenance planning at the base and contribute to maintenance schedules, supporting the Operations Manager in coordination of short- and long-term planning and workload management.
• Oversee and counsel personnel, review processes and recommend changes to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Resolve day-to-day maintenance problems and ensure aircraft maintenance is efficient, compliant and safe, with military aircraft kept operational and ready to fly.
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules and monitor material, spare and consumable usage against budget.
• Contribute to reviews of base assets' physical condition and to safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Set individual goals, manage performance, develop staff and give feedback; interview for vacancies when needed.
• Support the Supply Chain function in contractor negotiations and maintain relationships with third-party providers.
• May temporarily act as Aviation Maintenance Manager and perform other duties as directed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace maintenance, or a technical diploma at skill level 7 or 9 or equivalent.
• At least 8-10 years of experience in an aerospace maintenance and aircraft operating environment, preferably military, including at least 1 year in a similar position.
• No nationality restriction.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of maintenance processes and procedures.
• Expert knowledge of OEM maintenance manuals.
