Engineer I – Projects (Piping)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an Engineer I – Projects (Piping) to join its Sharjah team. The role focuses on contract review, coordination of engineering and procurement activities, and ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Review contract scope, obligations, schedules and identify potential concerns; prepare kick‑off meeting agenda.
• Finalize and submit deliverable lists to the client after cross‑discipline discussion.
• Coordinate with engineering to issue material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, purchase requisitions, drawings, procedures and calculations; monitor weekly progress and take corrective actions.
• Interface with procurement to track status and resolve issues.
• Organise weekly client review meetings to report progress and forecast upcoming work.
• Manage interactions with other companies as required by the contract, including document transfer and query resolution.
• Lead post‑award vendor kick‑off meetings, monitor vendor deliverables, and ensure alignment with contractual and schedule requirements.
• Identify risks, liaise with stakeholders to mitigate delays and cost impacts, and maintain accurate records of order progress.
• Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, evaluate performance, and resolve technical deviations.
• Support site teams by addressing material, non‑conformance and drawing queries in collaboration with engineering, procurement and expediting teams.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in project coordination, preferably in piping or related disciplines.
• Ability to review contracts, manage deliverables and interact with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills to conduct meetings, track progress and document actions.
