Engineer II Design and Modeling

About the role

EDGE is seeking an experienced Engineer II to lead finite‑element analysis, structural simulation and engineering calculations for mechanical and vehicle systems, ensuring structural integrity, durability and optimal design.

Key responsibilities

• Perform FEA, structural simulation and engineering calculations for mechanical and vehicle systems.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to define analysis requirements, load cases and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct static, dynamic, modal, vibration, thermal, fatigue, buckling and nonlinear/contact analyses.
• Define boundary conditions, material properties, meshing strategies and ensure convergence.
• Validate simulation results with engineering calculations, load‑path assessment and factor‑of‑safety checks.
• Support design optimisation, weight reduction, failure investigation and root‑cause analysis.
• Correlate FEA results with physical testing and assist prototype validation.
• Prepare analysis reports and present technical recommendations during design reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Mechatronics Engineering (Master’s a plus).
• Minimum 10 + years of relevant engineering experience with strong FEA/structural‑analysis expertise.
• Experience in automotive, defence, heavy‑vehicle or special‑purpose vehicle projects.
• Knowledge of materials, GD&T, manufacturing, welding/fabrication and DFM/DFA is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ANSYS or equivalent CAE software.
• Experience using Creo Simulation, Creo and Windchill.
• Familiarity with Geomagic Design X, Control X and Artec Studio.
• Hands‑on experience in CAD/PLM, reverse engineering, 3D scanning and 3D printing.
• Ability to perform static, dynamic, modal, thermal, fatigue, buckling and nonlinear analyses.
