Engineer – Team Leader

About the role

The Engineer – Team Leader is responsible for responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the safe operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, communicate solutions, and document daily activities for shift hand‑over.
• Perform preventive maintenance, visual inspections, and complex repairs on HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves, use lockout/tagout procedures, and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
• Conduct routine property inspections, address safety hazards, and ensure compliance with local and national codes.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and act in a supervisory capacity when needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with a two‑year technical diploma in HVAC/refrigeration.
• At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license and certification in refrigeration or electrical (or working towards it) plus Universal CFC certification.
• Ability to lift 50 lb unassisted and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and stairs.
