English Teacher - Bateen World Academy (AY 2027/2028)

About the role

Aldar Academies is seeking an English teacher for Bateen World Academy, a British and IB World School in central Abu Dhabi, starting in the 2027-2028 academic year. The school offers the IB Primary Years Programme (FS1 to Year 6) and the IB Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme (Years 12 and 13). Successful candidates will share the school's core values and show a genuine understanding of the region.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to achieve the best possible outcomes
• Plan lessons with colleagues that meet curriculum requirements and liaise with them professionally
• Work with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for children
• Work with curriculum support staff where applicable to support student development
• Act as a form tutor and support the pastoral needs of students
• Organise classroom provision, learning resources and displays, and present sessions for the whole ability range
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching and observe and assess in line with the school assessment policy
• Reflect on classroom practice and adjust planning and curriculum accordingly
• Record student progress using the school's assessment system, use assessment data to inform planning and intervention, and give feedback to parents at conferences and other meetings
• Follow the Behaviour Policy, manage classes effectively, maintain good relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model
• Work as part of a department team, support school events and activities, communicate with parents through school systems such as CPOMS, and run a weekly ECA each term

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or equivalent
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum
• Proven success teaching across the age and ability range
• Experience in more than one international school is desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and ability to work under pressure
• Commitment to the school vision and mission and to continuing professional development
