English Teacher for Arabic‑Speaking Students

About the role

Athar Academy is seeking a qualified English teacher who can work with Arabic‑speaking learners. The position involves delivering engaging lessons both at the academy and in students’ homes across Abu Dhabi, supporting their overall English proficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English lessons at the academy and at students’ homes.
• Develop individualized lesson plans based on each student’s level, needs, and academic goals.
• Support students in speaking, reading, writing, grammar and overall English proficiency.
• Prepare teaching materials, assignments and assessments.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and the academic team.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson delivery and student performance.
• Travel to students’ homes using academy‑provided transportation.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high teaching standards and ensure student satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, ELT, Education or a related field.
• Fluency in English and Arabic with the ability to explain concepts clearly to Arabic‑speaking learners.
• Previous experience teaching English, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.
• Strong lesson‑planning, classroom‑management and student‑assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to different ages, abilities and learning styles.
