Estimation Engineer - Fire Door

About the role

We are looking for a commercially minded and technically capable Estimation Engineer to join our estimating team. The role focuses on preparing accurate, competitive and compliant estimates and quotations for fire door systems and associated hardware, supporting both commercial and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed costed estimates and tender submissions, including doorsets, frames, ironmongery schedules and ancillary items, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Analyse enquiries and tender documents to develop scope of works, identify risks and assumptions, and produce transparent commercial breakdowns.
• Collaborate with sales, project engineering, design and supply chain to verify material, labour and subcontract costs, obtain supplier quotations and validate buildability.
• Develop and present tender responses, value‑engineering options and alternative solutions to improve win rates and margins.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing models and correspondence within the company’s CRM and estimating systems.

Required profile

• Relevant technical qualification in building services, fire protection, construction or engineering is desirable.
• 2–5 years’ experience in estimating or commercial roles within fire door, passive fire protection or building fabric sectors.
• Proven selling skills with experience supporting pre‑sales activities, preparing proposals and presenting commercial solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a problem‑solving mindset.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to attend site visits and supplier meetings.
