Estimation Engineer – Glazing & Cladding

About the role

The Estimation Engineer will support FJ Group’s glazing and cladding projects by preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing tender documents, and coordinating with suppliers. This role requires strong technical knowledge of façade systems and the ability to translate design data into commercial proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications, BOQs and contract requirements for glazing and cladding works.
• Perform detailed quantity take‑offs for aluminium, glass, panels, profiles, fixings, sealants and related items.
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates covering material, labour, fabrication, installation, logistics, subcontractors and testing.
• Develop project‑specific pricing based on approved designs, construction methods and commercial assumptions.
• Analyse architectural, structural and façade drawings to identify quantities, interfaces and potential scope gaps.
• Obtain, evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring technical compliance.
• Prepare RFQs, BOQs, rate build‑ups, comparison sheets and commercial summaries.
• Identify exclusions, assumptions, risks and provide clarifications before quotation submission.
• Collaborate with design/engineering teams to clarify technical requirements and support value‑engineering proposals.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years (36 months) experience in estimation for glazing, curtain‑wall or cladding projects.
• Proven ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and shop drawings.
• Experience in tender analysis, BOQ preparation and supplier quotation evaluation.
