Estimation Engineer – Piping Fabrication

About the role

The Estimation Engineer will support the Sales & Projects team by preparing accurate technical and commercial quotations for piping fabrication projects. The role requires independent preparation of complete bids from drawings, specifications and customer enquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer enquiries, drawings, specifications, BOQs and scope of work.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, material take‑offs and commercial quotations for piping fabrication.
• Perform MTOs from isometric, GA and P&ID drawings and calculate man‑hours, machine requirements and production capacity.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier/sub‑contractor quotations and coordinate with internal teams for costing inputs.
• Identify technical and commercial risks, propose cost‑saving alternatives and support sales during negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of hands‑on experience in estimation and costing for piping fabrication projects.
• Strong knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and related piping standards (ASME, ASTM, API).
• Ability to read isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings and material specifications.
• Good written and spoken English.
