About the role
Al Tayer Stocks is looking for an Estimator in Dubai to support the Estimating Manager in preparing realistic and competitive estimates of labour and material costs for projects. This enables senior management to judge the economic viability of each project and decide whether to participate in tenders.
Key responsibilities
- Procure labour and material costs internally and vet quotations to set competitive prices for management's review
- Prepare, after project award, a summary of the job covering labour, material, quantity and quality of materials as specified by the client
- Assist the Estimating Manager in running the estimating process professionally and cost-effectively, in coordination with the Quantity Surveying department
- Finalize tenders using the CCS
- Prepare estimates for the QS to obtain client/consultant approval for variations in labour and material costs due to design changes
- Prepare BOQs from drawings and prices and submit them to the Estimating Manager for approval
- Help draft a final report on pre- and post-completion costs to assess job profitability
Required profile
- Higher Diploma in QS
- 2-3 years of experience in a large construction or interior fit-out company
