Event Sales Manager

About the role

21c Museum Hotels, which combines a contemporary art museum, a boutique hotel and a chef-driven restaurant, is looking for an Event Sales Manager who reports to the Director of Sales. The role generates top-line catering revenue by maximizing revenue potential and up-selling additional events and amenities.

Key responsibilities

• Build the client base through outside sales calls, prospecting, direct mail, networking and referrals, covering local and national markets.
• Conduct site tours, represent the hotel at trade shows and business events, and identify gap periods (30/60/90 days and beyond) with targeted sales and marketing plans.
• Achieve budgeted revenue and booking goals, manage the full sales process from inquiry through payment and follow-up, and coordinate with the Director of Sales and the sales team.
• Prepare monthly reports such as pace reports, sales inquiries, site visits and action plans, and maintain accounts, inquiry records and event data in industry-standard software.
• Create and print reports and contracts, track accounts receivable and reconcile client bills, and assist with daytime event management when needed.
• Follow up with clients after events to rebook and gather feedback, and maintain good relationships with guests, groups and other departments.

Required profile

• Six years of event sales and management experience, with at least four years in hotel event sales or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; high school or equivalent required.
• Extensive knowledge of selling strategies, hotel, catering and event spaces, and ability to negotiate group accounts.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and market data, and to develop and deliver training.
• Background check required.
