External Account Manager - Paints, Coatings & Construction Chemicals

About the role

Brenntag is looking for an experienced External Account Manager to join its chemical raw materials sales team in Jafza, Dubai. The role drives revenue growth, manages customer accounts and develops new business in the paints, coatings, inks, adhesives and construction chemicals sectors. The ideal candidate has 3-4 years of sales experience in chemical raw materials for the construction industry and a strong technical background in chemical engineering; plastic industry experience is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet monthly and annual sales growth and revenue targets in the coatings and construction chemicals market.
• Identify and pursue new business with customers, manufacturers and end-users, and build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and industry stakeholders.
• Provide technical sales support, including product recommendations, formulation coordination and troubleshooting.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to adjust sales strategies.
• Collaborate with client R&D and supply chain teams to align sales with business objectives.
• Prepare sales forecasts, reports and presentations for senior management decisions.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and supply agreements with clients and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and QSHE standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or chemistry (mandatory).
• Minimum 3-4 years of sales experience in chemical raw materials, especially paints and coatings and adhesives, with traceable results in CASE and construction, and in polymers and plastics chemicals across the UAE and the wider region.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in the UAE and GCC market.
• Ability to travel within the UAE.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of resins, solvents, additives, pigments and other raw materials used in coatings and construction chemicals.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills in English.
