Facilities and Services Officer

About the role

The Facilities and Services Officer will lead the delivery of facilities and general services across the school, ensuring a strong service culture and efficient resource deployment. This role is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and maintenance while overseeing accommodation, procurement and budgeting.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all repairs, maintenance and external service providers in line with Aldar Education policies and procurement framework.
• Ensure security, health & safety, and daily site checks are performed, addressing vandalism and safety issues promptly.
• Plan and resource central services such as catering, cleaning, security, transport, waste disposal and recycling throughout the year.
• Manage school events and space utilisation, supporting the OSM with building re‑organisation and BMS monitoring.
• Oversee staff accommodation standards, procurement and compliance with Aldar Education housing policy.
• Act as the designated Incident Commander, available outside normal hours for critical incidents.
• Lead the facilities team, driving professional development, performance appraisals and a high‑performance culture.
• Control budgets, monitor expenditures and ensure best value in purchasing and contracting.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma or degree in a relevant field; facilities management or related certification preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in a mid‑level facilities or services role within education or a similar industry.
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong interpersonal and supervisory abilities.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to manage budgets and procurement processes.

Required skills

• Building Management System (BMS) monitoring.
• NEBOSH or IOSH health‑and‑safety certification.
