Facilities Management (FM) Engineer

About the role

The employer is looking for a skilled FM Engineer to oversee the operation, maintenance and optimisation of building systems and facilities. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance, compliance with safety standards, coordination with contractors and the efficient running of MEP systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day facilities operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting and ELV systems
• Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities
• Monitor facility performance and keep critical equipment running with minimal downtime
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors and service providers to ensure quality service
• Carry out regular inspections and audits for safety and regulatory compliance
• Prepare maintenance schedules, reports and documentation
• Support budgeting, cost control and procurement for facility services and materials
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and company standards
• Respond to emergencies and give technical support on facility issues
• Monitor energy consumption and recommend efficiency improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Facilities Engineering
• 4-8 years of facilities management experience in commercial, residential, hospitality or mixed-use developments
• Experience managing maintenance teams and subcontractors
• Familiarity with local authority regulations and HSE standards
• Strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills
• Preferred: FM certifications such as FMP, CFM or IFMA-related ones; UAE driving licence is an advantage; experience in high-rise buildings, communities, malls or large-scale facilities
