Faculty – Computer Information Science (Applied Digital Transformation)

About the role

The Higher Colleges of Technology is seeking a faculty member for the Computer Information Science program with a focus on Applied Digital Transformation. The role combines strategic contributions to the institution’s system‑wide initiatives with teaching, research, and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of HCT’s system‑wide strategy and develop relevant policies.
• Deliver applied, technology‑enhanced courses aligned with the syllabus and program goals.
• Design and assess curriculum, create assessment tools, and maintain course records (eCAF, CAR).
• Provide continuous feedback, advise, and mentor students, including support for internships and at‑risk action plans.
• Conduct applied research that aligns with national innovation priorities and represent the faculty at conferences.
• Participate in faculty, program, campus and system committees and serve as a sponsor for student groups.
• Maintain teaching facilities and equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement of teaching and quality assurance.
• Coach and mentor junior staff and assist in the recruitment and development of UAE nationals.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree with professional certification and at least five years of combined teaching and industry experience; a Bachelor’s may be considered with extensive industry experience.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience in the relevant field and preferably three years of industry experience.
• Proven experience in curriculum development, accreditation standards, and integration of educational technology.
• Ability to work in a second‑language environment and provide student‑centered support.
• Experience serving on academic committees and engaging with industry and community partners.
