Faculty Leader for Arabic A

About the role

We are looking for an inspirational and dynamic Faculty Leader for Arabic A to head our Arabic Language department for native speakers. The role involves driving academic excellence, shaping a culturally rich curriculum aligned with UAE Ministry of Education and KHDA standards, and fostering a love for Arabic language, literature, and national identity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and daily operational leadership for the Arabic A teaching team.
• Develop and monitor a Departmental Action Plan that aligns with school‑wide improvement priorities.
• Ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Education, KHDA, and governing body regulations.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and learning materials.
• Oversee design, vertical alignment, and continuous enhancement of the Arabic A curriculum across all key stages.
• Integrate 21st‑century pedagogical approaches, critical thinking, and inquiry‑based learning.
• Track and analyse student attainment data to inform interventions and raise standards.
• Lead assessment moderation, standardisation, and internal/external reporting.
• Model outstanding classroom practice and conduct regular lesson observations, learning walks, and work scrutinies.
• Mentor and coach staff through tailored CPD and performance management.
• Support differentiation for diverse learners, including Students of Determination and Gifted & Talented.
• Champion UAE heritage and national identity through curriculum and school‑wide cultural events.
• Build strong partnerships with parents to support language development at home.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, or Education specializing in Arabic.
• Valid teaching licence or qualification.
• Minimum 2–3 years of leadership experience as Head of Department, Subject Leader, or Coordinator in an international or private school in the UAE.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching Arabic A to native speakers across primary and/or secondary phases.
