Fiber Optic Technician – FTTH Installation

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fiber Optic Technician to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on end‑to‑end installation of Fiber‑to‑the‑Home (FTTH) services at customer premises, ensuring high‑quality connectivity and excellent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Install, route, and terminate fiber optic cables from the network distribution point to the customer’s home.
• Install and configure Optical Network Terminals (ONT) and Wi‑Fi routers, ensuring proper functionality and secure network setup.
• Activate internet services, configuring router settings such as SSID, password, DHCP, and related parameters.
• Perform fusion splicing and conduct light‑level testing with an optical power meter to verify signal strength.
• Carry out quality‑assurance checks, adjust connections, and resolve poor‑signal issues.
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to fiber connections, equipment, and home networking.
• Maintain detailed records of installations and report complex faults to the NOC.
• Educate customers on equipment use and basic troubleshooting, while ensuring safe tool handling and adherence to safety protocols.

Required profile

• Proven experience installing, terminating, and splicing fiber optic cables.
• Proficiency with fusion splicers and optical power meters.
• Strong knowledge of Wi‑Fi router configuration and home networking principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service focus.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Capability to work independently and manage time effectively.
