Field Engineer IV - Wireline

About the role

Weatherford is hiring a Field Engineer IV for its Wireline business. This senior-level engineer applies standard engineering techniques to a range of products and services within Geozone Operations, directs junior field engineers, troubleshoots complex technical issues, supports service delivery at the well site and acts as a key client interface. The role covers planning assignments, engineering checks, performance optimization and safe, efficient execution of field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain corporate governance, HSE compliance and quality management system standards; lead safety leadership and participate in toolbox talks and JHAs.
• Plan jobs, prepare tools and equipment, execute work and submit accurate documentation, including service tickets, logs, WPTS data entry and observation cards.
• Test, operate and maintain tools and equipment, manage inventory and supplies at the well site, and coordinate with the Repair and Maintenance team.
• Lead or take part in equipment failure investigations and root cause analysis, and oversee, lead and mentor field operations crew.
• Act as technical advisor to management, perform engineering calculations and analyses on client sites, and manage installation of complex equipment and services.
• Manage expenses within approved budgets, complete required training, and support talent management, coaching and recruitment.
• Remain available on a 24-hour call basis to respond to customer requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
• 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Physical capability to perform the role's field requirements.

Required skills

• Fundamentals of mechanics, electricity, electronics, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Mathematics proficiency and basic knowledge of physics and chemistry.
• Quality control analysis, data monitoring and analytical capabilities.
