About the role
The Field Engineering Technician (Mechanical) is an entry‑level position that supports field operations by applying basic mechanical engineering principles. Working under direct supervision, the technician assists the design team and helps deliver high‑quality technical documentation for construction projects.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparing detailed design and as‑built drawings ensuring clarity and constructability.
- Develop 2‑D drafting skills and support the creation of discipline deliverables.
- Maintain filing systems for drawings and related documents as directed.
- Gain understanding of contract scope, specifications, schedule and interdisciplinary requirements.
- Keep senior designers informed of progress, activities and any concerns.
Required profile
- High school graduate with a diploma in mechanical engineering, drafting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with drafting tools such as AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
