Field Operator – Petrochemical Plant

About the role

To carry out the assigned area field activities as per the control room requirements and SOPs, ensure safe turnover of equipment for maintenance, maintain housekeeping, and implement safety in the field while monitoring equipment to avoid breakdowns and delays.

Key responsibilities

• Set field equipment and valve positions as directed by the control room.
• Perform safe turnover of equipment for maintenance.
• Communicate deviations to senior field operator or shift supervisor.
• Follow shutdown, start‑up and emergency procedures.
• Complete field log sheets and track parameter deviations.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in the area.
• Inspect and maintain field safety equipment such as eye washers and fire extinguishers.
• Act as senior field operator when required and train on panel operations.

Required profile

• Higher Secondary School or ITI qualification.
• 3–5 years experience in large petrochemical, fertilizer or gas‑based DRI plants.
• Proven ability to log field data and identify abnormalities.
• English language proficiency.

• Tennova HYL DRI plant operation.
• Boiler, pump and compressor operation.
• Safety‑related program training.
• Field equipment monitoring and valve positioning.
• Field data logging.
