Field Service Engineer – Early Career Trainee

About the role

Join GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions team in Abu Dhabi for a 12‑month Early Career Trainee program. You will support field service engineers on substation automation projects, gaining hands‑on experience with protection relays, SCADA, and cyber‑security architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist engineers in preparing signal lists, schematics, and production documents such as wiring tables, cable schedules, and bill of materials.
• Support field service activities for protection relays, panel modifications, IEC61850 mapping, and installation of substation automation systems including DCS/SCS, RTU, and fiber‑optic layouts.
• Coordinate EHS matters, ensure PPE availability, and follow project schedules to meet milestones.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Energy, Cybersecurity, AI or a related field.
• Fresh graduate up to 2 years of experience, fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and the legal right to work in the UAE without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Knowledge of protection relays, IEC61850 signal mapping, and SCADA systems.
• Experience with substation automation hardware, cable scheduling, and relay setting calculations.
• Understanding of cyber‑security architectures and basic AI concepts.
