Finance Director

About the role

The client is a large, diversified construction and manufacturing group based in Abu Dhabi. They are seeking a Finance Director to lead the finance function across the business, driving performance, compliance and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with corporate objectives and provide insights to executive management and the board.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, long‑term planning, KPI monitoring and profitability analysis across projects and business units.
• Oversee project cost controls, revenue recognition, cash‑flow monitoring, WIP tracking and cost‑to‑complete analyses.
• Manage corporate treasury, banking relationships, cash‑flow forecasting and financing activities.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting under IFRS and local standards, coordinate audits and strengthen internal controls.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with projects, contracts and operations.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, promoting automation and digital transformation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field; professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA or CA) required.
• More than 15 years of progressive finance experience, including at least seven years in a senior leadership role.
• Extensive experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering or contracting, managing multi‑million‑dollar projects.

Required skills

• ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, IFS, EPROMISS or similar.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
• Business intelligence tools: Power BI, Tableau.
