Finance Technology Lead

About the role

HSBC is seeking an experienced Finance Technology Lead to define and deliver the technology strategy for its regional Finance portfolio. This senior position sits within the Global CIO organisation and works closely with Finance executives and business leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and deliver the regional Finance Technology strategy, aligning with global roadmaps and enterprise vision.
• Partner with Finance executives as a trusted adviser, influencing strategic decisions with technology expertise.
• Lead platform modernisation, simplification, consolidation and decommissioning to reduce technical debt.
• Own regional technology budgets, improve financial transparency and support investment prioritisation.
• Represent Technology in governance forums, regulatory reviews and audits, ensuring compliance and risk management.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of senior technology leadership experience in financial services.
• Proven track record leading Finance Technology portfolios and large‑scale transformation programmes.
• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, investment planning and cost optimisation.
• Experience engaging with regulators, auditors and senior governance forums.
• Commitment to inclusive leadership and developing high‑performing teams.

Required skills

• Cloud adoption and migration experience.
• AI‑enabled transformation and automation expertise.
• Modern engineering practices such as DevSecOps and observability.
• Knowledge of finance platforms, processes and banking technology.
• Understanding of technology risk, controls and operational resilience.
