Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist (University Administration)

About the role

The Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist supports the Associate Head of FP&A within the University Administration division. Acting as the analytical backbone, the role delivers strategic financial insights, multi‑year budgeting, and advanced modelling to guide decision‑making across facilities, IT, and general services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain multi‑year financial models and scenario analyses to support growth, sustainability and funding diversification.
• Lead the end‑to‑end budgeting process, including manpower, OPEX and CAPEX planning, and coordinate annual budget submissions and revisions.
• Prepare quarterly forecasts, track spend against budget, and highlight key variances with clear explanations.
• Produce financial analyses, reports and dashboards for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality, consistency and timeliness across financial reporting standards and templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field; postgraduate degree is desirable.
• 5–7 years of progressive FP&A experience, preferably in higher education or complex matrix organisations.
• Proven ability to advise senior leaders, design financial frameworks and support strategic decision‑making.
• High level of autonomy, judgment and problem‑solving capability.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with ERP platforms and financial systems.
• Strong financial modelling and data analytics expertise.
• Microsoft Office Suite – especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with budgeting methodologies, cost drivers and allocation models.
