Assistant Manager – Property Facultative Reinsurance

About the role

The Assistant Manager will support the placement of property facultative reinsurance by preparing accurate submissions, approaching approved markets and ensuring timely documentation. The role works closely with property underwriters, brokers, reinsurers and internal teams to meet underwriting appetite, regulatory obligations and internal procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Review underwriting referrals, understand required facultative structures and prepare comprehensive reinsurance submissions for property and related risks.
• Approach local, regional and international reinsurance markets, negotiate rates, commissions, coverage terms and secure written confirmations before committing to facultative‑dependent risks.
• Analyse technical underwriting information such as COPE data, risk surveys, claims history and fire protection systems, identifying gaps and material exposures.
• Maintain complete placement documentation including facultative slips, comparison sheets, confirmation letters, audit trails and premium calculation sheets.
• Manage renewal processes, monitor changes in exposures, claims experience and risk improvements, and coordinate with underwriting and finance teams.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, authority limits, KYC/AML, sanctions and other regulatory requirements, and support internal or external audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in reinsurance or insurance, regional experience considered an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, finance, economics, engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from III or CII are a plus.
