Finishing Operator (Deburring)

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring a Finishing Operator in Abu Dhabi. The operator carries out finishing and deburring of parts, removing sharp edges, mismatch, tool marks, tab cutting and grinding, and inspects components for quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform finishing and deburring processes including blending, polishing and edge breaking.
• Inspect manufactured components for quality conformance to specifications using bench gauging and perform visual inspection.
• Follow standard procedures for tool setup, operation, process verification, inspection, documentation and material handling.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and keep housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Debur parts and perform spot facing, straightening by 3-point bending, shot peening or manual straightening with a mallet.
• Carry out in-process measurement (IPM) to ensure quality output.
• Fill in controlled documents accurately and complete the shop traveler sequence in time.
• Operate deburring equipment such as pneumatic saw, band saw, pneumatic polishers/sanders, angle grinder, straight grinder, belt grinder, sanding paper and die stone.
• Verify tools and processes by stamping the shop traveler and follow approved working documents.

Required profile

• Trade school accreditation, high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification or accreditation in deburring, straightening, material handling and quality inspection and measurement.
• Preferred: experience in aerospace, manufacturing or engineering environments, minimum 3 years in the aerospace industry.
• English proficiency required.
