First Officer - A320 (UAE National)

About the role

Airlines are looking for a UAE national First Officer to fly the Airbus A320. The pilot conducts assigned flights according to the Airline Operational Manual and civil aviation regulations, ensuring safety, security and efficiency, supporting and guiding the cabin crew, handling emergencies and taking control of the flight.

Key responsibilities

• Fly the assigned aircraft on schedule and approved flight plans, prioritising safety, efficiency and passenger comfort
• Ensure flights follow the Operations Manual and regulations, and that pre-flight briefings are carried out correctly
• Liaise with co-pilots and the dispatch team on aircraft status, route, weather, fuel, weight and role distribution
• Use fuel efficiently within safety limits and carry out safety, security, fuel and transit checks
• Work with maintenance engineers, MCC and MROs to confirm aircraft airworthiness and fix defects
• Load technical logs, journey books and boarding sheets accurately, and keep the Operations Manual up to date and understood by the crew
• Keep up to date with legal requirements of regulators such as the civil aviation authority and Airbus, and take on ground-based safety or security roles when asked

Required profile

• Appropriate ATPL licence; technical and psychometric assessments and medical fitness check as required by the airline and authorities
• Minimum 4,000 hours of flying, Airbus A320 preferred; low-cost airline experience highly desirable
• Formal safety and emergency response training is essential; crew resources management, airport security procedures and IATA security standards are advantages
• Knowledge of aircraft systems, operations, QA/safety/security/audit procedures and ability to handle ad-hoc scenarios under heavy workload
• Excellent written and verbal English; other local languages are an advantage
